Dr. Neil Pendock

Dr. Neil Pendock is an applied mathematician and has been developing novel algorithms and associated software for the processing and interpretation of remotely sensed data for geophysics, hyperspectral core logging and remote sensing for more than three decades.

He has developed software for processing data for systems including Landsat TM, Aster, the De Beers hyperspectral airborne scanner, the AngloGold Ashanti core logging system, the Bell airborne gravity gradiometer, an airborne squid magnetic gradient system for mineral exploration, plus related projects.

He also runs an exploration company called Dirt and is a special consultant to enterprises and organizations around the world to further mining data research and to advance mining exploration projects. This includes institutions such as the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) in Newfoundland and Labrador. Dr. Pendock also partners with prospecting and exploration companies on projects of significance in Newfoundland and Labrador, including the Popes Hill, Ytterby and MRT properties.

In addition, Dr. Pendock is a sought-after speaker at mining events around the world, covering mining technology and innovation topics such as "Exploration Undercover Using Public Domain Remote Sensing Imagery: The Use of Thermal Remote Sensing and Gas Estimation for Exploring Vegetated Terrains" as he did at the CIM Mineral Resources Review 2022 in NL.
